I'm a bit rough one could say around the edges
In my whole life I've had to be it's true..
I can swear along with the very best of them
If it takes to that to get the message through..
I've worked harder or as hard as most men
And often for little pay and longest day that be..
If I can ever help another I do just that always..
Never been a man of violence deliberately ever
But really stir me up for nothing and it never pays..
I've saved more lives and given more money away
Than the holiest of thou on earth wish they had..
I'm totally full of old school values and integrity
Got them all passed onto me by my much loved dad..
I've looked death right in the face and spat at it
I've been shot and stabbed and swam 6 miles to shore..
I've died for 8 mins as I've explained re an NDE
And yes to an extent long ago I've been involved in a war..
I've delivered babies out in the bush one of my own
And fought for one when there was three fighting him..
As far as color goes I'm color blind as I'm no racist
And I've given my all to some who simply could not win..
I've raised two families kids and all until they were grown
I've traveled to places most to date have never seen..
I've been rich and I've been as broke as the best
I've lived in the cities and the out back and in between..
I've gone so very far out of my way on many a day
To help a guy who'd been bashed and could not get home..
I've paid for shopping of some who never had the money
I've been often friend to several that were so very alone..
I never spent my life asking as if God to help me anytime
I know what priests did for women husbands away at war..
Calling on them over and over having them get pregnant
And called it doing Gods work and then calling her a whore..
I have no time for bible basher's and those kissing statues
But I've done in life so much good all along my life's long way..
And I can spot a hypocrite simply a mile down the road
Who have in life think they've done it all as they kneel to pray..
