My dear those years have flown away
But I still remember that sweet day
When early on a summer morn
A child came home and you were born
Hair as dark as was the night
Skin of cream, oh what a sight
Eyes of dreamy chocolate brown
A happy cry but not a frown.
Now that baby is no more
She`s back upon that golden shore
Of time... that passes as we go
But I want you babe to know
You brought joy with every cry
And Mum would sing you lullabies
You went to sleep on Daddy`s knee
And came up here to see old me
Not so old then but then time
Is no real pal or friend of mine
You have made us all so proud
And we shout it all out loud
Maddie is a nurse you see
And worked hard to make it be
She succeeded, I knew she would
Sassy kid, but she made good
Now has babies of her own
She makes them a perfect Mum
Finds joy in every step they take
Maddie even learned to bake
Clever, beautiful gold inside
From her children she won`t hide
Her love and just how much she cares
Maddie plays and works and dares
To make all her dreams come true
That my baby is just you
Have a happy day today
