Fairy Tale

Rambling through the gallery of my thoughts
I found you in pride of place
Frozen in time looking out at me
From a special spot reserved for you.
Its strange that I only see you in silence
When the hills are graced with early sunlight
Or the ocean decked with rubies at dusk.
Then my heart warms with undying love
And I close my eyes to dream
Of gardens we walked rich in flowers
And the song of birds our soundtrack.
That was all we ever needed in our lives
To be free of all the needless complication,
To see each other in a light often hidden
In the rush and confusion of daily life-
So we stole away to a world we had created
Where fairy tales seemed so real
And we are prince and princess there still.
