Unless a Price Is Paid
It's clear there is no sacrifice
Unless a price is paid
That truly, in man's pleasing God
Atonement must be made.
I'm reminded of King David
Whose sin, God did abhor
Which brought him to a depth of shame
He had never felt before.
He knew the blood of bulls and goats
Would surely not suffice
Therefore, he offered up to God
A prayerful sacrifice.
Thus God did change his errant heart
And purged him of his sin
Creating anew a spiritual being
Redeemed and whole again.
Yes, it's clear that any sacrifice
Requires a price to pay
And David paid in pleasing God
By remembering to pray.
