The Lighthouse

Withstanding their constant
onslaught for ages
The lighthouse proudly stood
in the midst of waves

It was a relentless never
ending ongoing fight
Between the powerful sea
waves and the granite

But except for a little polish
added every passing year
The mighty structure didn't show
any sign of wear and tear

Many a storms and cyclones it
had coolly withstood
Man's triumph against nature
still proudly stood
