 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

poetryofadove

The earth shook as the sky poured,
A powerful wind had soared;
God watered the land with rain,
Refreshed it to ease its pain.

His flock settled in the night,
Then slept there till morning light;
Out of His goodness and grace,
Giving a loving embrace.

He provides for the oppressed,
Ensuring that they are blessed;
Knowing of their past ordeal,
And gives them spiritual zeal.

The Lord gives the instructions,
That need no introductions;
Women announce the Good News,
For an army that pursues.

They pursue the kings that flee,
As far as the eye can see;
As the women took pleasure,
In dividing their treasure.

They stayed to divide the goods,
That the kings left in the woods;
Separating goats from sheep,
Still in the pens fast asleep.

They were like wings of a dove,
Having a mind filled with love;
Its feathers of yellow gold,
With silver as they unfold.

The kings scattered through the hills,
With fear that was sending chills;
Praying unto their false god,
That lured them into a jihad.

Why do they look with envy,
Although their sin is heavy;
Hiding at a mountain peak,
Searching for the god they seek.

Our army caught them there,
Because our God did share;
Thank the Lord to show the way,
Because we trust and obey.
