We are a family of teasing
Love and hate nexus things
Oh the pain in reality brings
Someone asks, "How long have you been married?"
Wife well answer, "54 years can't afford a divorce!"
I well say, "The first year was happy
then reality set in." to which the Petticoat Dictator says,
"It was only six months until I found you were poor."
And reply "She had four sisters I was in a trance."
"Had to chose one to take to the dance."
It goes on and on like that.
Everyone pretends they don't like and tease everyone else
I became friends with her younger brother
His wife and he have the same teasing relationship
She well say, "Something happens to Ted I can sell the second home."
This week the teasing ends for the fifth sister I call Theodora
This week something did happen to Ted.
Late last week he went in for a checkup thinking no problems
He runs, he bikes mountain climbs great shape
The Doctors found Cancer in colon in his tests he needed surgery
Further tests for his surgery found a heart problems
Yesterday they did a four way by pass
Ted bikes runs marathons in great shape
When he came out of surgery over and over again
He told his wife how much he loved her
Emotional things not often said
He claims it was the medicine for pain he was given
Truth is they are hand holding and kissing like never before
I haven't seen him yet but it is going to be hard to say
Something nice about the Washington Fuskies
We have a mutual love of sports
We sit each year at the Apple bowl and neither
Can go home despite the score until the game ends
But he did graduate from Washington harder yet
I have to admit how frightened I am something might happen
So just this once I well tell him I love him
If he gets all better I well say I was misquoted
Playing basketball on the rim I am high above him
Reality of life he is my best friend
