Poetic Verses
Liberal Friend
While talking with a liberal friend
Early on, I came to see
That he will never change or bend
And the same applies to me.
On issues, we don't think alike
There is no common ground
No in between or compromise
When we go round and round.
He believes that stricter gun laws
Would make us more secure
But the answer is not more mandates
And therefore, not the cure.
He talks about the wealthy
Claiming they don't pay their share
But the truth is, in reality
They're taxed beyond what's fair.
There are other things we talk about
Some big while others small
But with each one, there is no doubt
We can't agree at all.
Yet, what he thinks, he should defend
For has a right to try
But I will always call him friend
Though we don't see eye-to-eye.
