The Lord has filled me with gladness, By showing interest in me; And turning away the sadness, Giving insight so I can see. God was interested to show, But wanted to give me a chance; Having the desire to know, How to proceed and to advance. I am not saying all of this, Because of having any need; But I say I cannot dismiss, A desire for to succeed. Succeeding in what I have learned, As content in a situation; And exactly what I have earned, Through the Lord and His salvation. I know of life in poverty, How it feels like in being poor; And to live in prosperity, How success will open the door. No matter what the situation, I learned secrets of how to live; Making an evaluation, How every result will give. If I had too small or too much, When I hunger or I do thirst; When I might need His gentle touch, But remember to keep God first. I can do all through Jesus Christ, To whom I am ready to share; When I strayed becoming enticed, As I kneel down to say a prayer. The Lord has filled all of my needs, His presence is a soothing scent; My sacrifice is more than deeds, But from remorse when I repent. God is then content and well pleased, As He gives in a divine way; Causing the emotions have eased, By showing trust as you obey. Copyright © 2016 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
