Poetic-Verses

'' I'm Small I Surrender, I'm Weak ''

If age as they say,
Is a state of mind,
I'm in one hell of a state,
This going grey,
As well as blind,
I'm afraid I just don't rate.

It has to be said,
This incontinence pad,
Is another of life's cruel gifts,
Wearing it to bed,
Is driving me mad,
It's more than the mattress it lifts.

Putting on socks,
Is a hell of a task,
My body will no longer bend,
My spine it locks,
Where, don't ask,
Then it refuses to mend.

Sex with the wife,
Is now in the past,
No wonder she closes her eyes,
It just causes strife,
As I cannot last,
The poor thing refuses to rise.

My mind has gone,
To where God knows,
What I'm doing I cannot remember,
Was it mowing the lawn,
Or blowing my nose,
Is it April or is it December?

The joys of youth,
Have a sting in the tail,
When young it doesn't enter your head,
Ignore the truth,
You're bound to fail,
We're all going to end up dead.

As I look back,
I think of my youth,
I was tall and slender and sleek,
Now under attack,
I can't hide the truth,

‘' I'm Small, I Surrender, I'm Weak ‘'
