Misconceived Rhetoric

they sit and conversate
       as though they had stood
   where those they discuss stood,
imaging rhetoric about others
       without logic,
  appearing illiterate to
              the battles waged
     in trenches of various kinds,
 without experience first hand,
  without facts and knowledge,
         damage is done and others
    pay the price for ignorance,

there is more than the simple
    appearance of a single layer,
  there are complexities that
        remain beyond the initially seen,
  where seeking attention for self
     is not the goal
giving for others is the desire,

   yet in the cluster around
       a square table judgment
 is launched and other critiques
   given in response are scolded
                    and condemned,
there is not reciprocity
       just blind perception.
