At twenty hundred-eight P.M.
i started a long beach walk on camp pendleton, last night then

So it was a three hour and forty minute walk
just by myself with the ocean, silent with no talk

This ocean beach is just so beautiful pristine
really one of the most beautiful beaches, i have seen

So mission accomplished
and my goal was to pull a four hour walk, but three hours and forty- minutes, became, my finish line and wish

So its strange almost exactly sixteen years ago
i walked this same beach with my son, we went down three hours and a half, came back return trip,  for seven hours --total--of walk, rock and roll

And fifteen years before that when i was on my tenth year in the MARiNES
i competed in a fifty mile race walk, it took me just under twelve hours, and thats the longest distance that i have ever seen

So my goal was four hours and i fell a tad short
but i will regroup and attempt it soon, of another sort

So i, know this was my best
and its a good hustle and i passed this goal and test, so let me now, pause reflect and pray, and for now get a good healthy rest

To some folks a three hour and fifty,  minute beach walk in the sand may not be such of a big deal
but for me two years ago, on august 13th 2014, i was a patient at arroya nursing and rebab home, today would of been my 5th day, i was in a wheel chair with two big wheels

From the eighth of august to the twenty fifth, i graduated from wheel chair to a walker
now two years latter, i know this little walk for me is a good hustle for sure

So for me, for you, no matter now where you are
one breath at a time, one step at a time, with focus and a purpose in your heart and mind, you can go very far
