Return of the Muse

I am glad I saw so deeply
Beyond the masks you wore-
You brought my muse back to life,
When I thought she had gone forever.
But you were like the light of dawn-
And though we hardly spoke at all
A million years became one second
And one second became a million years.
There was remembrance of some beauty lost,
Then found again when first I saw you.
I can’t express the feelings that have arisen,
They are so precious that time has no hold on them
Nor has distance or words or thoughts,
Inwardly we became one soul in an instant
Though oceans may hold us apart.
