Ghostly Figure

The ghostly figure flitted
from shadow to shadow
The watcher also moved
from window to window

Throughout the night this
funny game went on
And finally at dawn the
ghostly figure was gone

The watcher who was dead
tired was wondering
Whether it was play of his
mind or the real thing

But fear of shadows and
dark is so deep in us
Smallest doubt and all the
things look real thus
