Summer's shot
As summer ends and autumn calls
The leaves turn red and start to fall
The air's still warm 'til sunset light
But then a chill invades the night
It's jackets on and jumpers too
A scarf, a wrap, a button-through
You'll not get far on evening strolls
Unless you guard against the cold
How fast the summer passes by
How quick the change to autumn skies
The garden chairs are looking dull
The parasol has lost it's pull
The garden lights are looking tired
Solar homes where spiders hide
Some are lit and some are not
Some are broken, summer's shot
