Poetic Verses
Regardless
Has our nation lost direction
Is the writing on the wall
Could America as we know it now
Be headed for a fall?
So many cannot find a job
And crime is on the rise
While Christian values have become
Debased and criticized.
Our vets are treated poorly
But immigrants go first in line
And ransom is paid to enemies
In secret and by design.
There's chaos in our city streets
Spurred on by those who hate
And violence seems a daily thing
As tensions escalate.
The police are disrespected
And sometimes shot on sight
Our flag is trampled under foot
By those who claim the right.
But regardless, I remain convinced
That we will come back strong
Because the good outweighs the bad
And right wins over wrong.
