Contentment
(For Lesley)
I feel so very lucky
Having so much as I do
Three beautiful loving daughters
And a grandson that loves me to.
I have spent a lifetime looking
So I could call that something “mine”
But it took a lifetime living
Before I knew what I must find…
Now I’ve found, what is... contentment
What a dear friend once explained
While I was too busy searching
For someone that knew my name.
Now I can sit back and smile
After so many hurdles passed
I have all the love that is needed
And I know it’s going to last.
