Don't Want Your Prayers

I don't believe in miracles
or your  prayers

too much has passed
I have changed

prayers are a convenience
easy false conveyances
words mumbled when people willingly choose
not to proffer a hand

it was Gods will
or
it was Gods plan

it reeks to me of the lack
of the care of man
or the act of a true friend

prayers
are only mere words
they smack of
true in-action

miracles
will not happen
in my life
simply
because
you wave the magic wand
and wish

save your cheap words
they make a poor meal
a meager dish

if you wish to be of service
in all kindness do not
disservice me with your words

act
do
or be with me true
only in your body
but never with your
puny words

they mean
little
almost less than nothing
in the end

truth be told
they did offend

your words alone
accomplished
nothing.

Meloo/Melissa A Howells/ straight from her
Tilt-a-World...site title is  legal copyright by this author.

as William Blake's poem title says...
straight from "Songs of Experience."
this poem came straight from a song of my
(miserable) experience.

sometimes it is better and best to be silent
and stand by your friend(s) then to deliver
hollow words

re-edited on September 11th...and now I am
wholly satisfied with the end product here;
in that it expresses what I want to say.
