Second Amendment

Our Second Amendment is under attack
By leftist Washington foes
Who often try to legislate
Laws most of us oppose.

They seek to take our guns away
And ramp up the alarm
Despite the fact that peaceful men
Would not do others harm.

But I say this with fair warning
That my home, I will protect
No matter what the pundits say
Or how much they object.

So, if and when there comes a time
That I am put to test
I hope that God will give me strength
To do what I think best.

For I know well that tougher laws
Will not make violence cease
As I would likewise say the spoon
Does not make one obese.

Yes, our Second Amendment has become
A target for those who claim
That guns kill people every day
While the shooter gets no blame.
