In The Dark of Night

In The Dark Of Night March 22, 2016

Our heroes have gone but not very far
In the dark of the night you can see a star
The light of freedom on Irelands shore
Look around you'll see many more
Ten stars shine from high above
A message of peace just like the dove
Fourteen stars from a Derry street
 Killed for peace without defeat
The H Block cells share the sky
Why did it happen, we still ask why
Stars shine down on a Dublin street
In honor of Ireland where spirits meet
The Starry Plough can be seen at night
 Shining down for Connolly's fight
The heavens share the light of peace
Someday soon our troubles will cease
Our heroes have gone but not very far
In the dark of night you can see a star
