I'VE HAD A MOMENT OF CLARITY , I SURE HOPE THE REST OF OUR NATION WILL HAVE ONE TOO!

Time is not always that forgiving to many of us here
We had hoped as it marched on bad memories would fade
Then slowly we could return to those innocent days

Before circumstances would dictate who we would become
Or the experiences we would have to face along the way
Forever scaring those of us who had fought for freedom

As our own time continues on it just seems to be a fact
Somethings will never change have we learned nothing
From the passage of time or those lessons from history

How many centuries must pass us before we will learn?
That killing each other has never solved the problems
How many more must die before we all become civilized?

There has to be a far better solution than just killing
And it seems throughout all the conflicts of our history
More innocents had died than all the combatants involved

So I ask of you, Is there no one who see's the real truth?
Who will come forth with a plan of action to have peace?
It has to be obvious to everyone by now it has not worked!

These so-called leaders we have now have their heads buried
Like an ostrich who thinks by burying his head he'll be safe
Not realizing that it's own body is still exposed to enemies

Oh! I'm sorry I must have had a moment of clarity in my mind!
But the real question is will you have a moment of clarity?
And will you think of your families or your political parties?

This November we will have a chance to put our own nation
back onto the right track once again and we can head in
the right direction, or you can vote instead to leave
things as they have been for the last eight years here
in America and watch as this once great country turns
into a third world nation destroying itself from within.

Maybe it's time for all of you to also have a moment of
clarity in your own lives and decide to help change the
direction in which our nation has been headed in or will
you blindly follow what your chosen political party tells
you to do and how to vote in this November's elections?
I'll certainly pray that everyone in this nation will have
their own moment of clarity as well and that they will
think of their own family and their own loved ones too
before they vote and then just maybe we can once again
become great and a safe nation to raise our families in.
