Remembering a time only a small lad back when
And what I'd give to at times relive life as then..
Memories of better days in several sincerest ways
When old time religion lived as only there to praise..
Romance and courting and real love was alive and well
When ever so in love a boy and a girl in love they fell..
Those of that time can of sixty years still married tell
Two souls becoming one and as one upon earth to dwell..
During world war two but love it lead the way each day
Hard working simple folk best foot forward all the way..
Providing and raising families many memories they stay
Wishing that all still had that inbuilt stamina on this day..
A time now long gone that does remain within only a few
But to live as then now would be an impossibility true..
The powers that be have shut the gate upon that too
Only memories remain of a better time that some knew..
