The Sailorman

Sheer cliffs
ahead
Heaving sea
beneath

The tough little
tug-boat
Bravely carried
on forth

The lone sailor
squinted
A pipe clenched
in his teeth

All he could
see ahead
Dark cliffs and
white froth

And as there was
no spinach left
He surely faced
his death
