There was the longest time ago a castle on a hill
Then so many miles from any town that be..
Nobody much dared to go there mostly of a night
Although some just could not resist all there to see..
As at midnight a beautiful ghost would there appear
Play the piano of her selections of music as if to tell..
Of what she experienced within her life when alive
And she could play so beautiful and so very well..
Her music always so hauntingly to hear in echo
Drifting through the high castle away up on the hill..
Reflecting her moods at any time of her own choice
Having all listening leaving hearts and minds a chill..
Very seldom failed to appear at the stroke of midnight
Wearing exotic gowns sometimes as naked as could be..
She played her music as if with total at times abandon
Depending upon what she played to set her stories free..
Her very life was being told by her music so emotionally
From deeply within her very soul her life needed told..
Of her heart depth sadness her moments of ecstasy
At times heart breaking and others ever so very bold..
The piano was it was destroyed so very long ago in time
However it like her appeared in such ever brilliant form..
Although if ever her music was recorded for the listening
It too was long gone by the following coming of the dawn..
