A Dream Of Heaven

I dreamed I went to Heaven
And much to my surprise...
Jesus introduced me to
Some ordinary guys.

Expecting to meet Moses...
 Peter, Paul,  or Abraham
My first encounter there was with
A most amazing man!

Of course I'd read his story...
As most of us have done
But there to tell it in his own words
Stood the once prodigal son.

I heard him testify at length
About a Father's love...
How from face down in the pig pen
He felt led to look above.

The next to come before me
Stood poised and dignified.
The centurion spoke of how that once
 His servant almost died.

"But Jesus," he looked lovingly
Upon the Master's face
"Spoke to death and death let go.
 O, such Amazing Grace!"

Then, next, strode in a woman...
Whom I looked upon in awe.
I just knew so little of her...
She was Peter's mother-in-law.

She was joval and delightful
And she made me laugh so hard...
When she said that devil fever
Was no match for our Lord!

The next in line was tall and thin...
I found his brogue so cool.
He pronounced his words so solemnly...
Speaking of Bethesde's Pool...

Of how he'd waited there for years
As disappointing tears would flow...
Until the day that he was told
To pick up his bed and go!!

One by one they came before me...
There was the woman at the well...
The child who fell among the tombs
Possessed by a force from Hell...

The leper and the blind man...
The girl raised from the dead.
The line went on and on and on...
Then I sat up, startled, in my bed!

Thinking back upon the dream
And the people I had met...
No, I had not encountered Abraham...
But these I won't forget.

There is a lesson to be learned...
This dream is no fascade...
One doesn't have to be well known
To be well used of God!

~~Dedicated to Cathy~~

Luke 15:17-20
But when he came to himself he said, "How many
hired servants of my father's have bread enough to
spare, and I'm dying with hunger! I will get up and
go to my father, and will tell him, 'Father
, I have
sinned against heaven, and in your sight. I am no more
worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your
hired servants.'" He arose, and came to his father. But
while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was
moved with compassion, and ran towards him, and fell
on his neck, and kissed him.

Matthew 8:13
Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done
just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.

Matthew 8:14-15
When Jesus came into Peter’s home, He saw his mother-in-law
lying sick in bed with a fever. He touched her hand, and the
fever left her; and she got up and waited on Him.

John 5: 5-9
Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity
thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there,
and knew that he already had been in that condition a

long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put
me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am
coming, another steps down before me.”

Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”
And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed,
and walked.
