Behind closed doors the circle of hands is broken
The old oil lamp is burning while mad Mary
Sweeps the dusty floor
Shes tired but she must work some more
The wired and the wonderful intertwine tonight
Bernice had dreams of the city life
To abandon her role as lonely house wife
The dirty dishes and the kitchen sink
She wanted to dance she looked pretty in pink
She can fly she can walk on air
With that look in her eyes like she dont care
She likes the taste of forbidden fruits
Her feet wont touch the ground

After hours way past closing time
Tending to her chores with a bottle of wine
Mixed amongst the antiques
Grandfather clocks and a pile of receipts
Mad Mary scrubs her chambermaid overalls
Answers only when her duty calls
The barbaric and the beautiful twisted together tonight
Bernice on the other hand had plans to runaway
Trying to find herself a better day
Wishing to be tangled up in dream
To be a good rebel To rage against the machine
She clicked her heels shake it lose together

No more clutching to the rusty roots

Theres a world outside to behold

They fall into the clouds with a pair of parachutes
