Living, loving, and learning

No True Friend to be Found

All I want is to be wanted
One true friend to call my own
Instead, in loneliness I'm haunted

It's always the same way
Friendship blossoms like a summer flower
Then it dies and withers away

Each time I tell myself it will be special
This friend will stay by my side
Yet each one is carried away by some evil vessel

What drives them all away
Is there something about me
Causing them to not stay

Am I destined to just be lonely and to put on a show
Is there truly a friend out there somewhere
I'll never know for I've chosen to just let go
