Living, loving, and learning

Day by Day

Day by day, nothing seems new
All I'm searching for, is something true
Confusion and disorientation fill my day
What's the consistency? I wish I could say
I tremble inside, my heart is cold
Looking at my cards, my hand I fold
Game over, I'm done, or so it seems
The only place I feel alive, is deep in my dreams
I'm numb, I'm a ghost, I'm the living dead
My blood pumps black, when it used to be red
The colors drained, my face is white
In this darkness, I search for the light
I've been lost for so long, where do I go?
I pray to God, for the way to show
Persistence and courage I'm told is key
All I really need is a miracle to see
But something inside me won't let me quit
As if the light I'm searching for, is already lit
Along my journey, my conquest to heal
I know one day, victory I'll feel
