Tired of Tried Faith
I wanna go back to the days before God tried my faith
and the wind wasn't knocked out of my lungs.
Where sleeping at last played their beats
and best friends stood behind every closed door.
Where love was like the movies
and we worked for fun.
I wanna go back to the days where we counted down until forever
and watched stars from city parking lots,
where ice cream dripped on our toes
and life didn't rob us blind.
and the wind wasn't knocked out of my lungs.
Where sleeping at last played their beats
and best friends stood behind every closed door.
Where love was like the movies
and we worked for fun.
I wanna go back to the days where we counted down until forever
and watched stars from city parking lots,
where ice cream dripped on our toes
and life didn't rob us blind.
