How horrible it will be, For the shepherds who scatter; Giving out a false decree, With their deceptive chatter. The God of Israel warned, Shepherds who scatter the sheep; He will punish and be scorned, Causing them sorrow and weep. For they have scattered His sheep, By chasing them all away; Rather than able to sleep, They wandered and gone astray. They have not watched over them, So God has to discipline; He sees that He will condemn, For committing such a sin. Then God will gather the flock, Which were chased throughout each land; And teach them the way to walk, On solid rock and not sand. He will lead back to pasture, Where flowing milk and honey; Giving a fruitful future, Having no more agony. They will have a new Shepherd, So the sheep no more afraid; With an encouraging Word, No longer to be betrayed. Because in the coming days, He is a wise King to rule; Giving favor who obeys, And discipline any fool. King of kings and Lord of lords, As fair and just in the land; The righteous will have rewards, On solid rock where they stand. In these days Judah is saved, As Israel declared safe; No longer to be enslaved, No longer treated like chafe. Copyright © 2016 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
