Half Dead Birds Bereft

Half Dead Birds Bereft

That white ant did it
A dried hollow wood log
Once a lively branch
Blossom bearing, leaves bearing
Fruits bearing branch
Nourishing dreams sowed
Aspiring new dreams
Oh! A flourishing branch
But that white creeping coil
Has eaten green world within
And sucked the juicy streams
The splendid fountain it did guzzle
Leaving dried poor wood log a puzzle
Glued to ridiculous tree called life
Which itself is jigsaw puzzle
Those icy merciless hands
By them the wood log has been axed
Leaving already half dead birds –bereft and relaxed
