What shall I really say? For I have not much time; To tell it is ok, Lying would be a crime. You know of the prophets, Faith had conquered nations; God did not have limits, On any invasions. We did what God approved, Received what God promised; As the foes were removed, That loved their sinful lust. We shut the mouths of lions, Put out raging fires; Killed thieves and villains, To rid the desires. We found strength while weak, The power to defeat; Through faith that we could seek, Making us the elite. Women got husbands back, Believers had been healed; For faith we did not lack, For the truth is revealed. We gain eternal life, Though some were chained and whipped; But did cope with the strife, Knowing how we worshipped. Many were stoned to death, Or beheaded by sword; Believing to last breath, Jesus Christ is their Lord. The world did not deserve, Righteous people as them; Those that willing to serve, They should never condemn. Their faith had been well known, But none of them received; That God said on His throne, What they truly believed. Copyright © 2016 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
