Gazing into a fogged window,
Fall leaves now falling,
Children skipping and laughing,
Recalling once faded memories.
A young girl swirling in the yard,
Kicking the once piled leaves,
Life not yet a burden,
Free in spirit unwavering.
But over four decades have come and gone,
A young girl now older and wiser,
Life's troubles and pleasures have come her way,
Still free in spirit she remains.
Gazing into a fogged window,
Smiling to the woman looking back,
Life has come with many moments,
Still free in spirit she will be.
