Praise the Lord, O my soul, Praise to His holy name; Letting Him to control, In His Word to proclaim. Think of what He has done, Forgiving all your sin; Being cured by His Son, His Spirit cleans within. He will rescue your life, Crowns you with compassion; Gives mercy during strife, In spiritual fashion. He fills you with blessing, So you be young again; Made pure by confessing, To as you should had been. The Lord does what is right, For He is just and fair; Helping you to the light, With goodness He will share. He showed Moses the way, For what had to be done; Though His people did stray, He made sure that they won. The Lord has been patient, And ready to forgive; When times are turbulent, He helps us through to live. Even when we do wrong, Anger will not accuse; He lets not ills prolong, Causing the heart to bruise. For the wrongs we deserve, The pay backs with His wrath; But His compassionate curve, Guides us on the straight path. As high as to Heaven, Where I stand here on earth; The vast mercy given, Costs more than I am worth. Copyright © 2016 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
