O Lord, listen to my prayer, Open up Your ears to hear; Because I know that You care, And that You are always near. You are faithful and righteous, So do not rush to judgment; For I know you are conscious, On how I made adjustment. There is no one else alive, Who is as righteous as You; Until Jesus does arrive, For leading us to be true. My enemies pursue me, Who has been grounding my life; Living where I cannot see, Because of toils and strife. The past year I was confused, And I began to lose hope; State of shock being abused, Difficult for me to cope. I remember years gone by, Reflecting all that was done; I only just question why, We still have not seen Your Son. I stretch out my hands in prayer, Like parched land my soul does thirst; That in the new year we share, Everyone puts You first. O Lord, please answer me quick, For my spirit is worn out; My stomach is feeling sick, As my mind fills up with doubt. Let me hear mercy this year, Because I really trust You; And will honor and revere, In everything I do. Teach me in doing Your will, Because You are still my God; Your loving kindness instill, That we will honor and laud. Copyright © 2016 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
