To the men and women who careThey see many patients laughing, they see many patients crying, They tenderly care for the living, and tenderly care for the dying. Their vocation can be rewarding, or their vocation may be a curse, They always give without question, that's their ethos as a nurse, Paying a heavy cost to their spirit and a heavy toll in their lives, Burnout is a stealthy shadow, sometimes sadly, not all survives, They become a jack of all trades, forever learning in their careers, Nearly all will face adversities, nearly all confront their fears, Find them in hospitals, and institutions, in a prison or in a home, Those men and women who judge not, without disparity they come, They will treat everyone equally, they treat everyone the same, Nurses deserve our admiration, be honoured to carry their flame Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
