Of Being in the Loop
You offer several reasons why
I ought to join your group
And thereby come to know the joy
Of being in the loop.
Though flattered, it occurs to me
That I'm not sure I can
Because I simply don't agree
With how it's usually ran.
You choose who you will speak to
And whose hand you will shake
Which makes me think to join your group
Would be a huge mistake.
Oh yes, I am a skeptic
Your sincerity I doubt
Since those presumed of low estate
Quite often are left out.
I've seen this, and it's troubling
So why would you suppose
That I would want to be a part
Of something I oppose?
So at least for now, I must decline
The offer to join your group
Meaning I may never know the joy
Of being in the loop.
