A medieval castle with sun bleached stone

This is glorious Kyrenia, situated in Northern Cyprus.
A never ending carpet of honey coloured rocks sweep up into the majestic mountains,
Which lord over the civilisation below.
Within these grand mountains nestle an array of mother natures delights,
From the citrus yellow coloured fennel that thrives with its wispy leaves
Blooming in mid air,
To the wild goats that parade the mountain sides with their bells jangling against
The delicate breeze.
The sky forever projects an uplifting shade of serene blue,
And the sun radiates an endless supply of vitamin D which invigorates your bones
And bronzes your complexion.
Tucked behind the harbour front are slim, intertwining cobblestone pathways
Which feature white washed walls, and the Hand of Fatima proudly displayed on doorfronts
To ward off evil.
Sun rays trickle down on the waterfronts surface,
Whilst the tide peacefully rocks the city to sleep, swishing and swaying over and over.
Everyday the muezzin cast his holy adhan from the Minaret.
His prayer travels through the palm trees, reaching as far as the sea.
His call to Allah is gloriously melodic,
Hypnotising you with each note sung.
Oregano, thyme, olive trees and lemon groves sprout across the land,
Captivating all the senses.
The fruit and vegetables grow to colossal sizes, and are farmed naturally
Without any chemicals tarnishing the scintillating flavours.
Buzzing restaurants and cafes spill out onto the harbour front, plating up succulent meatballs
Marinated in various herbs, rich tahini dips, pide bread,
Juicy lamb koftas and garden fresh salads.
Situated on a steep hill is Kyrenia's best gift shop.
When you enter your eyes will be transfixed on the myriads of ottoman style lamps
Hanging from the ceiling,
Their flamboyantly colourful mosaic tiles emit a vivid glow.
Kyrenia is a jewel in Northern Cyprus' crown.
A place abundant in charm and culture.
