Hot Sauce Packet Poem

preface:

I love and enjoy poetry refrigerator magnets
and I like those little Valentine candy hearts
for their pert messages which are short,
but leave a lot to your imagination.

Recently I was enjoying a bean/rice burrito with
my love and I noticed that Taco Bell has now written
little  love bleeps on its various hot sauce packets.
They reminded me very much of both poetry refrigerator magnets
and those little sugary Valentine candy hearts with
written messages that disappear when you suck on them...
just like words vanish into the air after you speak them.

So, I thought, why not write a poem?
It amused me. It amused my beau of twenty years.
And afterwards I gave him a little recitation.

"HOT"
(or Taco Bell Love Poetry)

Caught you staring

I'm the hot one

Call me

I do
like you

I think you're pretty

You're my forever

Its just the beginning

Call me

There's more of me
where that came from

Hey, you should at least
try me

I'm a good listener

I'll make you sweat...
you bet

I....(insert newly beloved's name)
take you

You're my forever,

Always.

(Guess who?)

I'm the hot one........

SOMEONE foolish gave me a feedback today...
"that was mighty harsh, nobody's perfect, young lady"
I had to laugh since they write mostly religious poetry
about being good and forgiving. And also because they called me
young. I have never been young. Even when my years said I was.
Thank you for the big belly laugh and guffaw. Guess I must've
riled her up something fierce.
