Phillip I am at a loss as what to say
As I was told this dreadful news today,
You fought a long and hard battle to stay
But in the end cancer won the day.
I remember you as a little boy
Our play time together we did enjoy,
Cousins we were just 9 months apart
And you grew up to be ever so smart.
Your life wasn`t easy I have to say
The pain you suffered from day to day,
You accepted it as part of your fate
Your tolerance was unbelievably great.
I Can`t believe I won`t see you anymore
Now my heart is broken that`s for sure,
Another link gone from the family chain
Now nothing will ever be the same.
A light went out the day that you died
Many hearts broke and they openly cried,
You will be missed more than words can say
Not just now but forever and a day.
This is not the type of music that I would normally put on a poem
of this nature but knowing you Phil I think you would appreciate
this more. You sang and played a guitar in a group and therefore
loved music and all the good things that you did throughout your life
for charity or always helping people in a good cause, regardless of your
own trials and tribulations so I think this sums up your outlook on life.
Sleep well Phil, you leave me with a broken heart but also good memories.
