Will you talk for God wickedly?
On His behalf talk venally;
Maybe your thoughts are stupidly,
Or saying something truthfully.
Will you favor Him who made you?
As you argue for Him in Court;
Telling everything as true,
Signing as such in your report.
Will it go well when He questions,
Cross-examines what you have done;
When reacting on suggestions,
Or trick Him on treachery won.
Will the Lord really defend you?
If you secretly favor Him;
Being partial what you construe,
That He gives you vigor and vim.
Does His majesty frighten you?
Does it not produce some fear?
Because of the debt that is due,
Knowing that collection is near.
Your recollections are evil,
As your proverbs have been useless;
As if written by the devil,
That is displaying your blindness.
Be quiet for I want to speak,
Let what will happen to occur;
Whatever the future will seek,
Regardless if I do concur.
I bite off more than I can chew,
Taking my life in my own hands;
But neither am I Greek or Jew,
Following what Scripture demands.
God should kill me for I have no hope,
But defend myself to His face;
As I will continue to cope,
Even though I am a disgrace.
For this will be my salvation,
Since no godless man can come near;
Being weak with the temptation,
That just the righteous can revere.
