You Are Not My Audience, I Just Borrowed You For Awhile

/////////////////////

you are not my audience

I'm just borrowing you for awhile

still there are many of you
who will not listen

there are many who'd only have eyes/ears
for the music of their words
it makes me wonder
if you've ever felt invisible

I doubt you'd admit it

no need to feel exposed
to feel naked
that you're truly not all that important

the ego demands tweets
the ego demands f-book
tattoos, designer objects,
play-me things, drugs, see-me-language
habits, binges and booze

sometimes the ego demands
that you lose

now
is this how you see you
something you want
your option
what you'd chose

or is it a means of covering up
so the world doesn't find out
about the barest blip of reality of you

truth is revealed in how real people can be
revealed not in the covering up
but in the unwrapping

open yourself up
so the whole world might see
your sunbeams come shining through

have a conversation with yourself
with anyone
today
before your light become endangered
and you become
the stranger.

maybe this will elicit a conversation
a discussion or disagreement
Its not important that you agree with me
...as a matter of a fact I hope you don't
I invite discussion...but try to respect
differing views whenever possible
remember:
live and let live
and ye olde golden rule
