Royal Dream

Royal Dream

No disrespect intended Your Highness, but i really did have this dream as a teen living in Withernwick. E Riding. Lambwath Stream flooded every year so the fields were mainly pasture and one of our favourite Summer haunts:

Many many years ago
I had this pleasant dream:
Prince Charles the Prince of Wales
Was punting down Lambwath Stream.
I'm the Heir to the Throne, he said
I'm the heir to the throne,
I inherited this position you know
I didn't get it on my own.
At the palace they call me Sneckie
Because I've such a big nose
I've learned to cope with it though
It's not a name I'd have chose.
I smiled in greeting
Thought what a pleasant bloke
But before I could reply
I suddenly went and awoke.
Such a pleasant memory of when
His Highness pulled that stunt
Travelling down Lambwath stream
Poling his own punt.
