That Life's Been Good to Me
Over time, I have been tested
Often suffering loss and pain
But nonetheless, my life's been good
So why should I complain?
I've seen hard times that really hurt
Dark days of misery
But through each storm, I realized
That life's been good to me.
I've made bad choices in the past
Which cost enormously
Yet, I have learned from each mistake
That life's been good to me.
I've tasted war on foreign soil
As a frightened young draftee
And learned as one who did survive
That life's been good to me.
I've felt the scourge of anxiousness
Wondering what tomorrow will be
But with God's help, I'll not forget
That life's been good to me.
Yes, I'm so blessed and thankful now
Even with the loss and pain
But nonetheless, my life's been good
So why should I complain?
