Breaking up is never easy no matter what
You have to learn to let go of what you`ve got,
Even knowing that it makes sense to part
You are always left with a pain in your heart.
Your brain tries to reason with the aching heart
But the heart can`t listen when it`s falling apart,
It is hurt and wounded and bleeding inside
As it knows that the love it cherished has died.
Therefore at a time like this the head must rule
It may seem uncaring and exceedingly cruel,
But it must save the heart from further heartache
So decides to walk away and make a clean break.
But it is not just the heart that suffers though
`Cause through the brain all past memories flow,
So the brain relives these time and again
While the heart is always left with a pain.
