 ramblings and things

I am just a typical product of
Our current social machine
I subsidise the Tory Party
Pay deference to the Queen
 I read my daily Times
To check my stocks and shares
For Money and its acquisition
 Can bring so many cares.

I do my utmost  for society
By providing menial jobs
For the semi skilled of
That underclass of yobs
I pay the minimum wage
To my forelock tugging staff
Carefully selected to exclude
Any socialist and  union riff raff.

I check my balance sheets as
my worth just grows and grows
Call my advisor daily
To keep him on his toes
Pay my accountant well
To stop him getting lax
And by various ways and means
Avoid paying my income tax.

And I go to church on Sundays
For my social health
And say a cursory thanks
For my inherited wealth
I'm a pillar of society
With all that affords
And I have my hopes in time
Of Ermine and the Lords.

I inhabit the social pages
In both work and play
Just to fill in the time until
 My ennoblement day
I walk the streets of London
Pinstriped and brolly furled
For God is in his heaven and
All's well with my world.
