I was named after my two Uncles
Actually there was a fight in the Hospital
Family Irish tradition Daniel, Joseph, Micheal, Patrick
Every child born had a combination name of each
of the original family brothers
There was Micheal Daniel, Daniel Micheal, Patrick--
Oh get on with it Mom' s side called me Punky
Today we are more original
Kelsey, Amber, Kenny, Brent and Ryan Patrick Sheridan
A little bit of Irish throwback in Ryan's name
He was born shortly after finding the family gravesite
My Mom wanted to name me Gerald
That's how my younger sister became Jeri
Make sense--she loved the name
But the uncles had a macho thing going on
So I was named after a coin flip

The Hospital guards were about to be called

Named after my Uncle of the same name
I went to work at Boeing Aircraft
My Uncle was very important all day his name
Called on the Company overheads
I know this is hard to believe but I had a girlfriend
Petticoat Dictator thinks she was the only one that dumb
Anyway, I hadn't seen her since I left for the Airforce
She also went unknowing by me to work at Boeing
OK, half of Seattle either works for Boeing or Starbucks
My name was broadcast every fifteen minutes
Actually my Uncles name was broadcast
The girlfriend wrote a note outside covered in lipstick
Sorry dear, Kisses they were, and gave it to my Uncle's Secretary
She put the note in my Uncles lunchbox.
He had a meeting, important man, didn't open his lunchbox
His wife did at home--I well never know what the content of note held
Boeing was laying off and girlfriend said, "What are you going to do?"
Mostly I was hiding from my Uncle. She continued,
"I am going to Central Washington College." Not the brightest
of comebacks. "I was thinking of college too." With a 1.8 out of
high school and voted the most likely in my class not to succeed
My Mom opened my mail saw the application, "My idiot son
is going off to college and be a Doctor." Lucky I could play basketball
The girlfriend met this new guy who became a Doctor. good news
I meet my wife of 55 years and we had a son and to show I learned
nothing I named him Junior. He had more girlfriends than I did.
There are four Daniel Josephs in the family tree one is me
