A Collaboration
Between Pens and Hearts

Throughout all of her life long years
She would write verse after verse
From her heart she brought forth memories
Giving stagnant pictures a brand new birth

She would write of love and honor
Of country and her fellow men
In prayerful writes she spoke of God
As the ink flowed from her pen

She dreamed as each verse of her heart
Upon a parchment page was laid
That she would become the Poetess
Upon a published page

For what value was there to her words
If they were never to be seen
How could she touch a heart in pain
How could she share her dreams

As failing health and age set in
She would soon be heaven bound
Her life wrapped in heartsongs
In tattered binder to be found

Her hands now bent and crippled
With eyes that now could barely see
She made one last entry of her heart

. . . .

And drifted to peaceful sleep
I shared my life as I penned these words
I prayed that one day they would be seen
I leave now into your hands

My hopes my heart ... My dreams
Her last work indeed the best of all
As she lay down her weary head
With pen still within her hand

They found her next day dead
Of all her lifelong sharing's
Her last
Was to become her greatest poem

But sadly it was never signed
It read simply . . . .
