My LORD - gentle - and yet so strong - rode
Into Jerusalem - on a donkey's colt - in triumph -
Amidst a joyful throng - - who even threw their coats
Along the way - like a red carpet - laid down for the
Seeming famous - great and good - that we might
Do - to honour them today .

But - this was no ordinary man of high esteem - or
Galiant fame - but GOD as Man - who let Himself be
Led - that most extraordinary day - by those who thought
That He had come - as an earthly conquering king - to
Lead the way - to overthrow and reign - both there 
And then - as ruler over their domain .

But - no-one knew - that GOD had wrought a different
Plan - a plan to lead us on a narrow  -  untrod way - to
Calvary - forgiveness - and the cross - then into His eternal
Home - free from the shackles of these earthly bonds - that
Hold us in their grip of Death and Sin - into the freedom -
Grace - and wonder of an everlasting Life - with Him -
Our Redeemer - Saviour - Father -
GOD and KING.

I know this is late in coming for Palm Sunday ... But throughout
this week we are on a journey to the Greatest Day of the whole year
.. which is Easter Day , when our Lord and Saviour rose up from the
grave , and conquered sin and Death for us all ...once
and for all.

No other sacrifice is needed now from us except the sacrifice of
Praise to our loving God who has rescued us from Hell and has
opened the way to heaven for us .

May many come to know this wonderful Saviour this year , and
be assured of His free gift of Eternal Life . Amen.
