Someone Gave Me Bubbles

Someone Gave Me Bubbles

Someone gave me bubbles
When I held my hand out today
I usually get a quarter
And then have to give it away

I have met this kindly person
There have been quarters in days before
But today she gave me bubbles

Bubbles
Nothing more . . .

On these streets that I call home
There is no time to play
Here I beg for food and money
But someone gave me
The gift of joy today

I thank you pretty lady
For the kindness you've shown me
The colors of the rainbow
Are here now for me to see

Butterflies and Angel's wings
Maybe wishes do come true
Perhaps one day I will be grand
And walk these streets as you

And if I do I will be sure
If a little girl might come my way
To give her pretty bubbles
Just as you have given me today

I wonder dear pretty lady
Do you really know
What you have given me?

A world of simple imagination
Allows a sad heart to be set free

I would love to own a pretty dress
Have a coat that's nice and warm
But Today someone gave me bubbles

Bubbles
Nothing more...
